For Non-Degree Seeking Students

Non-matriculated individuals may enroll in American Studies courses provided they meet the admission requirements as determined by the MAAS Director. Non-matriculated students will be limited to a maximum of nine credits of graduate study toward the M.A. and three credits toward the Certificate in American Studies. Registration in classes for non-matriculated students and qualified undergraduates will be on a space-available basis once all matriculated students have registered. Consult the MAAS Director to have credits earned as a non-matriculated student count toward your degree.

To apply to become a non-matriculated student, fill out the online non-matriculated registration form.
